Lamar is 19 years old, and would be as aspirational reader from the inner city. He lives and breathes Hip Hop and R&B music. He is a regular 19 year old he loves going out with his friends to the new hottest raves, playing the new video games out and has a very high interest in new fashion and making sure he looks swagged out. But when he is not busy having fun and relaxing he is focussed on his education and is doing a degree in music technology. This means he is always on top of all the new music trends and loves finding new and up an coming artists just to find something that just has that different edge to it from the other sounds that are out at the moment.
Lamar is the type of reader which i would target my magazine at, to do this i would make sure that my magazine is always packed with new fashion that is hot on trend and has a section which is focussed on just the new up and coming music stars.

Demographic Profile
My music magazine will be targeted internationally; however it would mostly be aimed at the American and British youth market. The magazine will be aimed equally at both sexes male and female as well as being targeted fully at the ABC1 social class. The magazine is for people who have a great passion for music and music is a big part of their lives, and may also be interested in making their own music. The audience would have to be interested in the music genres associated with R&B and Hip-hop.

Music magazine research ideas
I have been looking at an range of different music magazines which are the same genre which i want to do as my own music magazine. I have been doing this so i can get an good understanding of how they are set out what styles are popular and what the target audience are interested in. I have especially been looking at the way in which the front cover is set out and interesting ways which i can pose my model for my own magazine. such as in the way that Nicki Minaj is posed on the front of the Complex magazine cover, she is crouching down very casually and her back is slightly bent over her face is looking straight on to the front looking directly at the person who is taking the photo. The pose that she is doing is an very high fashion pose and suits what she is wearing and the character which she is trying to portray.
Looking at keyshia Cole on the front of Vibe magazine, the style is very different and is just not a simple photo that has been put on the front of a magazine. It looks to be as if a photo has been taken using probably a digital SLR camera, then would have been edited using an photo editing software. Photoshop could have been used and then a effect would have been put over the top of it so the colour looks as it is merging together and the blending options such as the opacity could be changed so that it looks like it is just coming of the white background or even as if it is floating.

Typography styles
I wanted to look at a range of different typography styles which I thought would suit my magazine style.
Because I am doing an R&B/ Hip hop magazine, it allows me to have a subtle mix in the style of writing I would use. I think that for a Hip Hop magazine the writing style seems to be very bold and heavy, which you could say is to match the certain style of music.
But when looking at R&B magazines the style seems to be more flowy and romantic to give of a different persona. Again like the Hip hop magazines the R&b magazines music is very much slower and more romantic slow jams this again is shown in the writing style.
Music magazine audience research
When buying a good well known music magazine what cost would you be willing to pay?
I asked this question just because of the interest in how much I would make my music magazine, for the target audience which I am aiming my magazine at. To know what price ranges they would buy things at and how much is to much or to little.

Music magazine audience research
Is there more attraction to a magazine from the Images or the Text?
The reason in which I asked this question was to find out if my target audience either had more attraction to the images and what the magazine looked like then to the actul text and what was being written.
I am able to see that the target audience is more attracted to the look of the magazine and the professional look of the photos which are taken more then the text inside of the magazine.
